Title
Summary Rabbi Dome discussed the story of Bolok and Bilam using a vort of Reb Chaim Shmulevitz zt"l - namely that a person hears what he wants to hear, based upon a Gemara in Gittin regarding Illish and a bird. Did you know why it is called "Ayin Hora" - why only one eye? When a person finds fault with others it is because he is only using one eye and not "seeing the full picture". Further, as far as Bilam was concerned, as explained by Reb Elchonon Wasserman zt"l, there is a big difference between living with the letter of the law and living with the spirit of the law. The latter part of the Shiur attempted to define the words "I can't" - using different scenarios, how Bilam used this term and how Bolok raised the stakes as a result.
