| Summary | Reb Shimon Shlit"a was simply superb this morning. The first part of the Shiur discussed the abhorent practice of Ba'al Pe'oir which is quoted in this week's Parsha and 2 fascinating Gemoras in Sanhedrin, each with a different story. An amazing vort from Sefer Madraygos Odom followed, explaining a Gemorah in Sukkah that when Moshiach comes Hashem will shecht the Yetzer Hora. The moral of this vort is that a Tzadik and/or wise man will "see the future" and realise that the Yetzer Hora is simply attempting to lay the path for his destruction and will thereby make every effort to fight him off, whereas a Rosho and/or a fool will simply shrug and "go with the flow" R"L! A beautiful well known moshol given by Reb Elya Lopian zt"l followed, to explain why we are sometimes referred to as sons of Hashem and sometimes servants. Also quoted, amongst other things, was a lovely Meshech Chochma in the name of the Tashbatz with regard to Yidden being Oleh Regel and how, even though loopholes were available e.g. being Mafkir ones property, so as not to have to make this trip, Yidden have always wanted to carry out Rotzoin Hashem - as we would say - "living in the SPIRIT of the law - not merely in the LETTER of the law..."! |
